Do you know the huge sum it cost to make each episode of Game of Thrones?
Popular TV series Game of Thrones is
regarded as one of the world’s most watched shows and now, you can refer to it
as the ‘World’s most expensive show’.
The show was already considered expensive according to
Hollywood standards due to the fact that since its season 2, it has reportedly
cost $6 million per episode. But for season six, HBO paid over an average of
$10 million per episode, according to a recent story in Entertainment Weekly.
There will be 10 episodes of the fantasy show this season,
which means HBO spent at least $100 million on this year’s show.
A staggering sum indeed!
A good deal of that money likely went towards what the
producers are describing as the largest and most epic battle scene that any TV
show has ever attempted. The highly tactical confrontation will involve
hundreds of human (not CGI) soldiers on the battlefield. It will rival the
‘Blackwater’ episode from season two, according to EW.
Season 6 of Game of Thrones will return to TV on April 24.
