The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr Muhammad Babandede has revealed that the cost of getting a Nigerian international passport might increase in the nearest future.
He made this known in Abuja at the flag off ceremony for the capacity building programme on Information Communication Technology organised for immigration officers in conjunction with Huawei Technologies Company.
Mr Babandede said:
"It is not easy for us to pay for booklets because of the cost. You will agree with me that air tickets have doubled in this country. You are aware that a lot of things have changed, but the passport fees have not changed.
He Made it clear that Nigeria Immigration Service has written to the presidency to propose a hike and will proceed with a review of the price once approval is received. This proposed increase, according to Babandede will enable the agency to deliver better service."
