The Nigerian Federal Government has declared next week Monday September 12, 2016 and Tuesday, September 13, 2016 as public holiday in commemoration with the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The Minister of Interior, Mr AbdulRahman Dambazau disclosed this in a statement signed by the acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Muhammadu Maccido.
The Minister urged Muslims and Nigerians in general to support and join hands with President Muhammadu Buhari to diversify the economy and progressively accelerate the pace of economic recovery.
Dambazau who noted that President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration was very conscious of the current economic challenges currently facing the country, assured that appropriate steps were being taken to address them.
He assured that Federal Government was working to revitalize the agriculture sector and address the recession through areas such as: “Youth Empowerment Scheme” in Information and Communication Technology; “The Change begins with Me”, a value re-orientation campaign; massive capital releases and other social intervention programmes.
He added that he wishes Nigerians a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
