While to commenting on the Nollywood industry, he said “Nollywood oscillates between being the second and third biggest film industry in the world. I can tell by the profile that they are gaining, it’s not going to be long before I, to be perfectly frank, as someone who has established their career in Western film making, am going to be desirous to go back and make a film that would be deemed a Nollywood movie.”

He further said that “Because for me, excellence is key and I want to work with the best filmmakers in the world, whoever they are, wherever they are. And of course there’s going to be a very particular desire to do that if that is happening in Nigeria.” “Living there myself, being of Nigerian parentage, we love a good story, we love a good yarn. Unbelievable: men also wear hair enhancement

Women are the ones who have been known to wear all sorts of hair enhancement. However, in this generation, some men have started to wear hair enhancement as well.

Won't they make it more expensive? Won't they start competing with women?

I saw a picture of a dude who was "caught" wearing hair enhancement. Check out his picture below:

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has said that the union will commence a warning strike action starting on the 2nd of October, 2016, if the government fails to honour its agreements.

Bobrisky says his mother once sent area boys to beat him to stupor

Nigerian “male barbie doll” Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, famously known as Bobrisky, disclosed how his mother disliked his girly lifestyle when he was younger. In an interview which he granted today he has revealed how he got the nickname, Bobrisky.

“When I was small, till I was 16, my dad and mum called me bobo because I am the last born of the family. When I began to grow up it was still the same thing, and I noticed life was a challenge so I had to face it squarely. My dad used to say that when any of his children turned 17, he would no longer be responsible and that we had to take care of ourselves because of the economy of the country. This led me to go out there and hustle. And I am from a polygamous family and my mum is the last wife. When I started catering for myself I decided to add risk because life is all about risk. Even if things seem to be falling aside you still have to continue. I have been through a lot in life and I thank God so far. So that how I came about the name Bobrisky,” he explained.

Hence, if you look at it well, you'll discover his nickname is a combination of "bobo" and "risky". He further added that he had no regrets about his lifestyle despite the the fact that he is alleged to be a homosexual.

“When I was a kid my mum used to beat me a lot; she would beat me and say ‘How can I drop my wig somewhere and you would go and take it, this boy what is wrong with you? I born you as a boy not a girl.’ So my dad stopped her from beating me. He would say ‘stop beating this boy or else you would kill him because what you are beating him for he would still go back to it again, just talk to him”. It got to a point when I got to the age of fifteen, my parents had to agree because they thought, how would you be beating a boy from childhood and he hasn’t changed. So they just advised me to be the best I could be. There was a time my mum hired area boys to beat me, and she even told them to beat me to stupor.”

He added that his family has accepted him for who he is, especially when he started providing for his mother's needs unlike his older siblings who only constantly asked for assistance from her.

“But later my mother got to appreciate me because, we were three kids (two boys and one girl) and they don’t do anything for my mum, they don’t care about her, all they care is for her to bring, bring, bring. So I had this sympathy for my mum, I’m very caring, I'll cook for her, wash her clothes and lots. She now thought like, I think God wanted to make this boy a woman, because I love cooking and doing lots of chores. Even till now I don’t have a house help because I am used to doing things myself. I got used to the whole feminine lifestyle, seeing the way she (his mom) dresses and makes up and my mom is a fashion freak, just let me say I inherited all from her. She really had no choice than to accept me the way I am, so she and dad gave up saying “my son, just do the right thing, live a reasonable life and bare your own kids."

“I don’t copy anybody. I act what comes to my mind, I believe I have never regretted any of my actions before even up till now that people still say shit about me, I still don’t care, am still who I am because I believe if you look at someone else’s time , your time may be different from his and you will fail. I do things the way I can do it, and if people appreciate me its fine and if people don’t, it is also fine. Because am just myself,” Bobrisky added.

Ibidun Ighodalo talks about her search for a child

Mrs Ibidunni Ajayi-Ighodalo recently opened up about her search for a child in an interview with  This day's Nseobong Okon-Ekong.

The wife of Trinity House founder and accountant, Pastor Itua Ighodalo also talked about dedicating her life to helping others through her Ibidunni Ighodalo Foundation, IIF by funding IVF treatment for couples who are hoping to have their own children.

When the CEO of Elizabeth R got married in 2007, her expectations were like those of every many married woman, to give birth to children. Her wedding to Itua Ighodalo, was celebrated, even if it was attended with a heat of debate from his previous union.

Nonetheless, friends and family members rallied round to give them the much needed support, while other interested members of the public attracted by their individual and combined eminence followed with keen enduring attention.

Close to one decade on, the loathing generated in some quarters at the onset of their relationship has definitely receded. The rumour mill which spewed torrents of lopsided and coloured tales that caused the couple a lot of trauma, even if a bit, has withdrawn, but the pain of those turbulent years live with her still. For one who keeps to herself, the scrutiny of her marriage in the public, led her to sew-up. She reduced the number of persons she called friends to a handful, becoming more and more engrossed with her husband.

"I have heard stories of in-laws calling the woman painful names. Those are hurtful things to say. There are names you don’t want to call a woman that is looking up to God." Mrs Ighodalo began...

She continued to share her experiences.

"People may not want to be mean, but they don’t know that certain statements and body language hurt. When you are waiting on God, you can be sensitive to what people say or do and they might not know it will hurt or hit you. It is good to raise awareness and understanding about childless couples. Friends and relatives should be a bit more sensitive to women or couples who are waiting on the Lord. I know that because of our culture, the pressure is so much. The shoes of women who are waiting on the Lord are not very easy shoes. Emotionally, mentally and psychologically, hormonally, when you are going through treatments, it’s a rollercoaster-you deal with in-laws, society, friends, there’s a lot going on."

"People who get married and have children don’t know how lucky they are. I mean you are even careful not to get pregnant again, you are so blessed by God, you should thank God every day. It is not easy to find yourself in a situation where your friends are doing school runs, you don’t know what that is, you don’t even know what your first trimester is. The friends you had bridal showers with are having baby showers, it takes the grace of God to remain sane, honestly."

On her 35th birthday last year, she decided to turn the lemon that life had thrown at her into lemonade. It had become her fashion to write a wish list on the day she was born and then tick-off the accomplished ones on her next birthday. Every year, she scored high on every point, but one: The issue of childlessness had become a sore point that could not be addressed. She had prayed and sought different avenues for a medical solution, but the problem just could not be wished away. Although she enjoyed the understanding and love of her husband and in-laws, the quest for a child consumed her.

"I had tears in my eyes when I told God, ‘you know what? This is enough. You are going to do it when You want to do it, in Your own time and if You are not going to do it, let it be left undone. This is You. I trust You. Right now, it’s ok, I’m going to live my life. I found out that I had stopped living, because that was all I wanted. I said no, I’m going to be happy, live my life and leave it all to God. I’m grateful to God for my own family, for the family I’m married into."

Those statements to God with tears in her eyes opened a window to air her bottled emotions. It lifted a huge weight off her shoulders. As she cleared her mind of the cobwebs of trying to have a baby, she was amazed to receive one of the most altruistic ideas with clarity. Her husband was no less enthused when she shared the idea with him.

"My focus now is to help others, one at a time. I want to make a family happy and with the help of God, their prayers would be answered. I know the pain and what it feels like. It will give me joy to see them jumping and rejoicing, saying that they are expecting their own children. I have seen it happen. I have seen the two sides during my course of treatment. I said God help me, let me do this. When you focus on helping others, you don’t know the blessings that come back to you. It is difficult but I said Lord you have put this in me, You have to provide. You know when God gives you a vision, He makes the provision. I have been amazed at the response. It is unbelievable."

"When I was going through some treatment, I would get to the clinic and someone who has just done a pregnancy test was being told that it didn’t work, it was always so devastating for me to hear them wonder aloud where they would get money for the next treatment. I have met women who came to the hospital to get the treatment but they couldn’t afford it. Some couldn’t even afford the test to know what was wrong. I have also met women who decided to share their burden, this is how financially draining this treatment can be. If you have extra eggs, you can sell them in exchange for the treatment. When women share eggs left from a successful IVF on another women or they use the woman’s extra cycle that has been paid for, these are ways women support one another because getting an egg donor can be very expensive."

"It is so strange and funny, but when you sit back and think about it, every family has somebody who is waiting on God for a child. The person might be your cousin or mum’s sister. There are certain ways we will treat the person. But do you know that there are certain ways we treat somebody else coming into our family with the same issue? We don’t treat them the same. It is not intentional. If you have in-laws who are not nice to you, they will think it’s your fault. They will call you names, talk down on you. If your in-laws have somebody in their family who is waiting, they will never speak to the person like that. We really need to have a support system and also learn to put ourselves in other people’s shoes."

The graduate of Microbiology from the University of Lagos is using the platform of IIF to award grants for fertility treatment such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Frozen Embryo Transfer and Intrauterine Insemination. She was forced to change her initial plan to help one or two couples when she received tons of applications. The plan has now changed to accommodate 28 couples.

"There are some couples that have applied that have been married for between 20 and 25 years and when I read their history, they have come to a point where they are tired. I even found out that it was their family that applied for some of them. A lot of people have asked me why I don’t face my life, why am I trying to be Mother Theresa. What is it? Is it that you have so much money you don’t know what to do with it. I can’t even explain it."

Mark Zuckerberg meets Buhari in Aso Rock on his return to Nigeria

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg must really be in live with Nigeria because he returned to Nigeria today. He paid a visit to the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja where he met with the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo.

As at yesterday he was at Kenya to meet with some tech guys after he left Nigeria two days ago. This surprise sudden return of his baffles one. Could he have found a Nigerian girl he likes?

See the picture:

Mark Zuckerberg says the future will be built in Africa

"The future will be built in Africa" were the words of Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg while he was in Nigeria, before travelling to Kenya. The world's 6th richest is on a visit to Sub-Saharan Africa, a surprise trip which has pushed Africa’s entrepreneurial spirit into the news.

“It’s inspiring to see how engineers here are using mobile money to build businesses and help their community,” Zuckerberg said after visiting Nairobi’s iHub, the most famous of Africa’s innovation hubs.

He also popped into the office of BRCK, a remarkable internet connectivity device that has since morphed into a clever education system for the developing world. Both have been co-founded by Erik Hersman – who is also the co-founder of Ushahidi, the real-time reporting tool created during the violence following Kenya’s disputed 2008 elections and is considered – along with M-Pesa – as one of Kenya’s greatest tech success stories.

For his 78 million followers on Facebook, Zuckerberg wrote “Just landed in Nairobi! I’m here to meet with entrepreneurs and developers, and to learn about mobile money – where Kenya is the world leader."

Kenya has 5.3-million Facebook users, many of whom access the social network via mobile.

“I’m starting at a place called iHub, where entrepreneurs can build and prototype their ideas. Two of the engineers I met – Fausto [Marcigot] and Mark – designed a system to help people use mobile payments to buy small amounts of cooking gas, which is a lot safer and better for the environment than charcoal or kerosene. It’s inspiring to see how engineers here are using mobile money to build businesses and help their community.” The system is called Paygo Energy.

Hersman told me: “He was very keen about the real-world problems being solved at Gearbox”. An extension of iHub, Gearbox is a maker space with 3D printers and other manufacturing facilities in Nairobi. “Think of it as doing for hardware what iHub did for software in Kenya, which is really concentrating the activity around hardware manufacturing. It is an onramp for manufacturing in Kenya.| Last year there were eight startups working in the Gearbox space, now there are 24.

“He’s interested in cool tech that solves real problems and I think to his credit – which is not him believing his own PR – he really does care about getting the internet to emerging markets and get it out to the edge of the world. Of course they are doing it for commercial reasons, but that’s okay, we need a commercially viable internet everywhere.  He does really care about that though, that’s what came across to me.”

Yesterday in Nigeria, where he praised African entrepreneurs, Zuckerberg said: “The thing that is striking is the entrepreneurial energy. I think when you’re trying to build something, what matters the most is who wants it the most. This is where the future is going to be built,” Zuckerberg said

It echoes similar compliments made by US President Barack Obama, who praised Kenya's tech entrepreneurs during a trip last July: “This continent needs to be a future hub of global growth, not just African growth”.

Founder of Facebook, the 7th richest man in the world has ended the comparison between Nigerian jollof rice and that of other African countries as he said he enjoyed eating Nigerian jollof rice.

Speaking during a tech session with developers and entrepreneurs at Yaba, Zuckerberg said he has tried some Nigerian food since he arrived and he thoroughly enjoyed them.

In addition, he said Nigerian jollof rice, shrimp and snail, tasted delicious when he tried them. He also added that he has been warned not to compare Nigerian Jollof rice with that of any other African country.

Lately on social media, there has been a serious comparison between Nigerian jollof rice and that of other African countries especially Ghana.

Should we take this as an end to the "beef"?

During Donald Trump's immigration speech, he was hitting out hard at Hillary Clinton, 68. Beyond being critical of her stances on the issue, he took a personal swipe claiming that SHE should be deported for being a criminal! The tycoon vowed to create an Immigration and Customs Enforcement task force that will be, “focused on identifying and quickly removing the most dangerous illegal criminal immigrants in America who have evaded justice, just like Hillary Clinton has evaded justice. Maybe they’ll be able to deport her!” Donald never ceases to amaze us.

When not bashing Hillary, he did get particular on wanting to make sure all criminal immigrants would be the first to get the boot from the U.S. under his administration. “Zero tolerance for criminal aliens. Zero, zero! They don’t come in here,” he vowed. He claimed there are two million such bad guys already living in the U.S. and that, “We will begin moving them out day one as soon I take office in joint operation with local state and federal law enforcement…Day one, my first hour in office, those people are gone! And you can call it deported if you want, they’re gone!”

Though he repeatedly talked about how “thugs” will be the first order of business in his deportation plan, he never touched on what’s going to happen to non-criminal nearly 11 million illegal immigrants who are already residing in the United States. He had made previous pledges throughout his campaign that they would all be rounded up deported and forced to re-apply for citizenship if they wanted to come back to the U.S.
