Dr. Mohammed Sani Idiagbon, a senior lecturer at the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) has been removed as the head of the department for allegedly harassing a female student.
A female student of the institution confirmed the development. Some other students also noted that the viral video was a planned effort, recorded by the female student to apprehend the randy lecturer.
According to the students, the lecturer knowing the implication of his alleged action resigned his appointment from the institution so as not to face the Staff Disciplinary Committee.
It will be recalled that a female student uploaded to YouTube an audio recording of what transpired between her and the randy lecturer from the department of English in the tertiary institution.
The viral video indicated that the student had gone to the perpetrator’s office concerning a Continuous Assessment test she had missed, and the lecturer appears to have seized the opportunity to harass her.
The Deputy Director, Corporate Affairs, Mr. Kunle Akogun, noted that in spite of Idiagbon’s resignation, the report of the panel was still being awaited.
