How to prepare Ogbono soup

Ogbono soup is a slimy Nigerian soup made from ogbono seeds. It is also referred to as draw soup and it can be prepared with or without vegetables.

Ingredients

·         Assorted meat and fish

·         2 handfuls of ogbono seeds

·         3 cooking spoons of palm oil

·         Vegetable (any of your choice: ugwu, scent leaves, bitter leaves)

·         1 spoonful of crayfish powder

·         1 medium-sized onion

·         2 stock cubes

·         Pepper and salt (to taste)

Pre-cooking steps

1.       Grind the ogbono into powdered form

2.       Wash and chop the vegetables

3.       Cook the assorted meat and fish

4.       Grind the pepper

5.       Boil some water

Cooking steps

Pour the palm oil into a clean dry stainless steel or aluminium pot. Set on the fire and melt the oil with low heat. Remember, only melt the oil, do not allow it to start evaporating or get smoky.Once melted, turn off the heat and add the ground Ogbono.Use your cooking spoon to dissolve the Ogbono in the oil. When all the Ogbono powder has completely mixed with the oil, add the meat/fish stock (water from cooking the assorted meat and fish). Set the heat of your cooker to low and start stirring. You will notice the Ogbono start to thicken and draw.Keep stirring till the Ogbono has completely absorbed the meat stock.Add a small quantity of the hot water and stir till the Ogbono has absorbed all the water. Repeat this process till you get a consistency that is satisfactory.Make sure that the heat is low, cover the pot and start cooking. Once it starts to simmer, stir every 2-3 minutes for 20 minutes.
The next thing to do is; every 3 minutes or so, open the pot, stir very well, scrape the Ogbono that sticks to the base of the pot, cover the pot and cook for another 3 minutes. After 20 minutes, the Ogbono should be well cooked and you will begin to perceive its nice flavour and aroma.Add the assorted meat and fish, ground crayfish, salt and pepper to taste. The Ogbono may have become thicker from the cooking. If so, add a little bit more water and stir very well. Cover and cook till the contents of the pot is well heated up.If you prefer your Ogbono Soup without vegetables, turn off the heat and serve but if you like to add a vegetable then keep reading :)When the content of the pot is heated up, add the vegetable (of your choice). Stir very well, cover the pot and turn off the heat. Leave to stand for about 5 minutes and serve with any okele (wheat, ground rice, fufu, semo, amala, eba, pounded yam etc).

Serve the soup with any “okele” of your choice. Although, most people prefer it with eba.

Placenta hair treatment for itchy scalp

In this generation, a lot of hair treatment has been recommended by people. I was recently advised at the salon to use placenta as a treatment for my itchy scalp. Placenta, I discovered comes as a form of liquid hair treatment. Meanwhile, it can also be found in other products such as anti-aging facial cream, shampoo and conditioner.

Massaging your hair and scalp with placenta hair treatment makes your hair softer and eliminates that itchy scalp. It helps one to rebuild one’s hair. It provides it with a healthy and natural shine and replenished hair protein. However, you have to be careful with placenta by using it moderately because it contains hormones like estrogen and progesterone and these hormones can be absorbed into the body through the scalp.

Research shows that a young girl experienced early puberty (menstruation, breast growth & body hair) because of hair products with placenta.

Meet Joseph E. Godwin, a corps member who just passed out. He has become popular for showering praises on his fishseller mother and for taking a picture with her while he was dressed in his NYSC uniform. He even went as far as wearing His NYSC cap for the caring, sacrificial mother who saw him through school with the little money she made from selling fish.
The gentleman who served in Nasarawa state had his passing out parade recently and even got an award as the "Most Regular  (male)" in his Sports CDS group.

Check out what an extreme fan of Kylie Jenner did to herself

Some people are not just fans but fanatics... A "fanatic" of Kylie Jenner has put herself through series of extreme surgery to look like her. Now, her skin is so plastic that she can't make facial expressions anymore.

See what carrying heavy school bag did to this boy

A man identified as Engr Mofe Vav Zekins shared some disturbing pictures of his nephew whose spinal cord was damaged for carrying a heavy school bag.

The man took to his social media account to explain that his nephew had to go through surgery as the damage done to the little boy’s back was huge.

Afterwards, he advised parents to avoid making their children carry heavy school bags because it is very dangerous.

Here is what he wrote:

This is an eye opener for parents whose. The photos are images of my Nephew who attended Primary School and due to his heavy book bag he started walking with a bend and complained of back pain.

On visiting the doctor, he had to undergo major surgery to rectify the problem.

I plead with you don’t allow your child to lift a heavy school bag on his/her back. Its very common among us Nigerians.

Where we will buy all the textbooks our kids need and expect them to take it to school each day. Please this can cause permanent disability to the child.

Had to call her and give my number. ” if you’re interested in modeling please give me a call” I said. Well she came to the studio and I called my number one MUA @bimpeonakoya and this is what we came up with. I think she will make a great model. What do you think?
