How to make akara

                         Ingredients
•2 Cups Brown Beans
•3 Chili pepper "Shombo" - Optional
•2 Red bell pepper "Tatashey"
•2 Scotch bonnet pepper "Ata rodo"
•1 small Red onion
•2 Seasoning cubes , Crushed
•Salt to taste
•Vegetable oil/ plam oil (For deep frying)

                            Procedure
Step 1: Sort the beans to separate the chaff from the beans. To remove the skin, there are two methods i.e the hand method & The Blender method. The hand method is the manual way of peeling beans and is much more difficult as it could take up to an hour to complete while the blender method is easier and could take about 5 minutes to complete. 

Hand Method of removing beans skin: Soak the beans in water for like 10 mins or less. if you soak the beans for a longer period the skin would stick to the body of the beans thereby making it very difficult to wash off. Peel the skin off the beans by rubbing them between your hands and rinsing to allow the skins to float to the top. Sieve the brown skin out with clean water leaving the white part of the beans. 

Blender Method of removing beans skin: Another method of washing beans to make it easier is to put the unwashed beans into a blender, Add water & pulse the blender for about 5 minutes. This doesn't break the beans but removes the skin. Sieve the brown skin out with clean water leaving the white part of the beans.  

Step 2: Remove the seeds from the red bell pepper and wash. Place the washed beans (White) in the blender. Add the Red bell pepper (Tatashey), Scotch bonnet (Shombo) and onion into the Blender. Add a little water to enable the blades of the blender move and blend till you get a smooth paste.

Step 3: Put the mixture in a mortar, add Salt and Crushed Seasoning. Gradually stir the paste with a pestle for about 5 minutes. This is one of the secrets to getting very soft akara balls. 

Step 4: Pour the vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat up. Spoon the mixture into the sizzling oil to form balls one spoon at a time and fry until golden brown making sure you flip frequently on each side.

Step 5: Remove balls and drain on absorbent kitchen paper.

Serve with Hot sauce/ pepper as a snack or with pap(Ogi/Akamu/koko) as a meal.

Khloe wants Lamar at Rehab but Lamar says No.

Lamar Odom's drinking addiction has sky-rocketed and Khloe Kardashian wants him to get help NOW! Sources close to the couple said Khloe is doing everything she can to convince him to get treatment for addiction. However, although Lamar is happy to go to physical rehab, he refuses to deal with the drug problems.

It was discovered that Khloe even went to the extent of suggesting an "outpatient programme", but Lamar remains defiant. Odom's family members are also trying to convince him by pointing out several relatives (eg his father) that have addiction issues.

It was also gathered that Lamar has been communicating with his two kids in New York recently, but the kids got worried when they saw him in the bar.

Khloe has been telling friends and family that there will come a time when "she has to stop trying" to save Lamar.

Omotola Jolade Ekeinde celebrates her daughter's 19th birthday today

Omotola Jolade Ekeinde's beautiful first born named Meraiah turned 19 today and the diva mother posted a side-by-side photo of both of them and tagged it thus: #They say you're a Mimi me. Oh well... I hope they can spot the difference...lol... Love you Lady". Bear in mind that the mother and child just set eyes on each other a few days ago since 2015. The singer/actress was taking part in British talk show host, James Corden's latest Carpool Karaoke segment when he took her phone and sent a flirty message to Leonardo DiCaprio without her permission.

He wrote:“Hey baby, I’m kind of feeling like I need to cut loose. Any suggestions? Let me know, J.Lo (you know from The Block)'.

The mother of two screamed at the prospect of Leo getting the message: “You cannot send that!” but it was too late as James already sent it.

Laughing and cringing she told James: 

“Now I'm gonna have to explain this!”

Surprisingly within minutes Leonardo texted back,  revealing he was up for some action.

He wrote “You mean tonight, boo boo? Club wise?”

A mortified Jen said “Here's the funny part, he thinks this is from me!”

Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and D'banj interrupt Lagos Heatwave with Cold Gold at #GidiFest2016

Celebrities such as Tiwa Savage, Phyno, D'banj, Adekunle Gold, stormed the loudest party of the year this Easter weekend. MTV Base South African VJ, Nomuzi and Timaya were also at the party which took place at Eko Atlantic City.

Boko Haram's Spiritual Base in Alagarno Captured by Troops

Theatre Commander of Operation Lafiya Dole, Maj.-Gen. Lucky Irabor disclosed yesterday to newsmen that the Nigerian military troops have demystified Alagarno – the spiritual power base of the Boko Haram terrorists in the North-East, by capturing it.

In his words, “Our gallant troops finally entered Alagarno on March 28, during which several Boko Haram terrorists were killed along the route. This operation demystified the Boko Haram terrorist spiritual power base in Alagarno. Throughout the operation, the NAF monitored the operation, consistently resupplied the advancing troops as well as assisted in evacuating soldiers that were wounded in action.”

 

A Boxer Goes into Coma After a Match

Why on earth would a referee leave a boxer to continue fighting till he goes into coma?

Well it happened when British boxer Nick Blackwell (right) went into an induced coma after suffering a bleed on the brain following a domestic title fight defeat to Chris Eubank Jr on Saturday night. The referee didn't stop the match and allowed it to go on until the tenth round, when a doctor indicated Nick Blackwell couldn't continue the fight due to severe brain injuries from punches by Chris Eubank Jr.
